The New York Exiles host the Twin Cities Gemini at Mt. Vernon Memorial Stadium during Round 6 of the 2026 WER season.

Having faced each other just 6 days ago at TCO Stadium, both the Exiles and the Gemini travel back to New York for the 2nd half of a back-to-back! The WER-leading TC Gemini easily dispatched the Exiles in their meeting last week by a score of 41-19, but there would be no repeat of that this time around.

After a nervy opening 10 minutes, the home side opened the scoring through Adriana Castillo in the 12th minute but this was quickly cancelled out by the Gemini with a Hannah Pfersch score 4 minutes later and they took the 5-7 lead after Chloe Headland added the extras. The Gemini would extend this lead just under 10 minutes later before going down to 13 players through two yellow cards, and the Exiles hit back with a try in the 31st minute, and another on the stroke of halftime to give the hosts a 17-12 lead at the break. The second half started much like the first but this time it was the Gemini who broke through first with Chloe Headland dotting down then converting her own score to give the Gemini back the lead, but 10 minutes later the Exiles snatched it back once again off a Tara McWilliams score, followed by a Jetta Owns conversion, then penalty roughly 5 minutes later to take the score to 27-19 with under 15 to play. The TC Gemini would hit back with a try from Emilee Jalosuo in the 72nd minute to secure a pair of bonus points, but that would be all they could muster.

The New York Exiles secure a much needed 27-24 win against the top-of-the-table Gemini, reigniting their season and jumping up to 4th place with a 2-4 record, just behind the Gemini themselves who drop from 1st to 3rd and mirror the Exiles’ record, falling to 4-2.
