The Twin Cities Gemini travel to the east coast to face the Boston Banshees at Veteran’s Memorial Stadium in Quincy, MA during Round 8 of the 2026 WER season.

This is the 2nd meeting of the 2026 season between these two sides, having previously met in Round 4 at TCO Stadium where the Gemini took a big 50-15 victory at home, their first win over the Banshees after being swept 2-0 last season. The Banshees still hold a 2-1 lead in this match-up all-time, but are struggling this season in 5th place with a 1-6 record. The Gemini on the other hand, struggled in 2025 but are fighting for 1st this season, currently sat 3rd with a 5-2 record just 2pts shy of the top spot.

The hosting Banshees came out swinging, opening the scoring after only 2 minutes through Shelby Vance but after recovering from the shock of Boston’s start, the TC Gemini quickly hit back with a Sam Brackett score, but still trailed 7-5 after 10 minutes played. the Gemini would take the lead before the 20 minute mark with a score from Natayah Bauer, and it would take almost 20 minutes before they were able to extend that lead as the Banshees defence proved tough to crack. The Gemini took a 7-17 lead to the sheds, but the Banshees started the second half just like the first, bagging a try 3 minutes into the second half to cut the TC lead to 5pts. Unfortunately for the hosts, this would be their last score of the afternoon. It took the Gemini until the 54th minute to crack the Banshees defence in the 2nd half but once they did, they ran riot. 4 scores in just over 10 minutes blew Boston out of the water, and a cherry on top score from Chloe Headland secured a 12-48 victory for the Gemini which doesn’t really reflect the grit that the Boston Banshees showed in this game.

The Banshees fall to 1-7 and remain just a single point ahead of the last placed Chicago Tempest. The TC Gemini keep their playoff hunt alive with a bonus point victory and will likely finish the round in 2nd place after the Denver Onyx and Bay Breakers play tomorrow.
