The TC Gemini host their Midwest rivals the Chicago Tempest at TCO Stadium during Round 7 of the 2026 WER season!

This is the second meeting of the season between these sides after they met at Benedictine University during the opening round of the 2026 campaign, where the Gemini took an enormous 22-78 victory on the road to move to 3-0 against the Tempest all time. The Gemini enter this game with a 4-2 record through 6 games after an unexpected defeat to the New York Exiles last week dropped them from 1st to 3rd, but they are still right in the mix and are looking to bounce back. The Chicago Tempest are fighting with the Boston Banshees at the bottom of the standings, both with 1-5 records and they would love a win over their rivals.

Unfortunately for the visiting Tempest, they trailed for almost the entire 80 minutes. The TC Gemini opened the scoring through Corinne Gallagher with less than a minute on the clock but it took them another 15 minutes to extend that lead. They extended it further just after the hydration break, before Tempest hooker Ilene Andrade crossed in the 26th minute for Chicago’s first (and only) score of the game. The Gemini added a handful more tries before the break, and took a huge 40-5 lead into the sheds. The Tempest didn’t fare much better in the second half, but managed to stem the Gemini’s scoring a little, conceding 3 scores for a 21-0 half in favour of the Twin Cities, who take a 9 try, 61-5 victory to stay in the hunt for 1st place.

The TC Gemini have now swept the Tempest in both WER seasons to date, outscoring Chicago 139-27 in their two meetings this season.
