Illinois native Emily Tunney played in Women’s Elite Rugby between 2025-2026. She represented the Chicago Tempest for her entire WER career.

Despite being listed as a reserve player, Emily Tunney was named on the bench for the Chicago Tempest’s first ever game on 23rd March, 2025. She has previously played with Chicago North Shore in the WPL. Tunney earned her debut in the Tempest’s WER debut, and returned for a second year with the team in 2026.
