Chicago native Anabel Diaz played in Women’s Elite Rugby between 2025-2026. She represented the Chicago Tempest for her entire WER career.

Anabel Diaz was named as one of the Chicago Tempest’s ‘Foundational Five’ players. She was also named in the Chicago Tempest starting lineup for the team’s first ever game on 23rd March, 2025. She has previously played with Chicago North Shore in the WPL. Diaz is internationally capped for Mexico as Serpiente #3, and is a founding member of the Chicago Lions Women’s XV side.

Anabel Diaz earned 6 appearances for the Chicago Tempest in 2025, starting 3 times in WER’s inaugural season. She returned for a second year with the team in 2026.
