Chicago native Mackenzie Wood played in Women’s Elite Rugby during it’s inaugural 2025 season. She represented the Chicago Tempest for her entire WER career.
Named as a reserve for the 2025 season, Mackenzie Wood earned her WER debut when she was named in the Chicago Tempest reserves for their Round 7 clash with the Bay Breakers. She has previously represented Chicago North Shore, captaining the WPL team alongside Tempest teammate Kadie Sanford, as well as the San Clemente Rhinos in the 2024 Rugby Tens Championship, and the Chicago Lions
