A capped USA Eagle, Mona Lisa Tupou earned her WER debut in Round 2 of the 2025 season, when she was named on the bench for the Bay Breakers against the Denver Onyx, the first game in Breakers history. She has previously represented the Life West Gladiatrix in the WPL, and the East Palo Alto Razorbacks. Tupou earned her test debut in 2023.

She attended Stanford University, playing rugby while there.

Despite being listed as an ‘on-call player’, Laura Thacker earned her WER debut in Round 2 of the 2025 season, when she was named in the Bay Breakers starting lineup against the Denver Onyx, the first game in Breakers history. She has previously represented the Berkeley All Blues in the WPL, and has played with the Cape Town Wild Dogs in the Rugby Tens Championship.

A capped USA Eagle, Evan Hoese earned her WER debut in Round 2 of the 2025 season, when she was named in the Bay Breakers starting lineup against the Denver Onyx, the first game in Breakers history. She attended Harvard University, playing throughout her time there, and has represented Beantown RFC and the Berkeley All Blues in the WPL, as well as the Experts in the PR7s. She earned her international debut in November 2018 against the Black Ferns.

Alev Kelter

Alaska native Leyla Alev Kelter played in Women’s Elite Rugby during it’s inaugural season in 2025. She represented the Bay Breakers for her entire WER career.

A capped USA Eagle, Alev Kelter earned her WER debut in Round 2 of the 2025 season, when she was named in the Bay Breakers starting lineup against the Denver Onyx, the first game in Breakers history. Born in Florida but raised in Alaska, Alev Kelter has played with Saracens and the Loughborough Lightning in the English PWR, and has represented the USA as Eagle #256 at both 7s and 15s level. She is an Olympian, having represented the USA in Rugby Sevens at three separate Olympic Games, Rio (2016), Tokyo (2020/21) and in Paris (2024). She has also represented the USA at two Rugby World Cup competitions, in Ireland in 2017 and New Zealand in 2021/22. She also played with the US U20 Ice Hockey team while attending the University of Wisconsin.

Bulou Mataitoga

Fijian born California native Bulou Mataitoga played in Women’s Elite Rugby during it’s inaugural season in 2025. She represented the Bay Breakers for her entire WER career.

Mataitoga moved from Fiji to the USA at age 19 in 2013, and has represented the Loughborough Lightning in England’s PWR since the 2021/22 season. She has represented the USA as Eagle #286 at both 7s and 15s level. Bulou Mataitoga earned her WER debut in Round 2 of the 2025 season, when she was named in the Bay Breakers starting lineup against the Denver Onyx, the first game in Breakers history. She scored 4 tries in 3 games (all starts) for the Bay Breakers during their inaugural campaign.

Following the 2025 WER season, Mataitoga represented the USA at the Rugby World Cup in England before returning to the Lightning for the 2025/26 season, and was invited to the USA Eagles’ UK Alignment Camp in early 2026.
