Shawn Clark

New York native Shawn Clark played in Major League Rugby between 2021-2022, and again in 2025. He represented the LA Giltinis (2021), Dallas Jackals (2022), and Anthem RC (2025).

A native of Potsdam, NY, Clark played football, basketball, and baseball during his time at Potsdam High School, earning tryouts with MLB teams such as the Pittsburgh Pirates and Baltimore Orioles. Clark captained the football team during his time at Cushing Academy from 2014-2015, before attending Monmouth University from 2015-2019. He played at tight end for 4 years, earning a First Team All-Big South selection and a First Team Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference selection. His football career culminated with a tryout with the Indiana Colts in 2020, after which he joined the Colorado XO program (later the American Raptors), specializing in turning crossover athletes onto rugby.

Clark, who can play either in the 2nd Row or on the wing, played in 9 of the XOs 10 games during their Spring 2021 season, before joining the LA Giltinis late in the 2021 MLR season, although he did not see game time, instead playing with their academy side. He earned his MLR debut with the Dallas Jackals, starting two of his 4 appearances and running for over 150m gained with ball in hand before returning to the American Raptors for their fall 2022 season. Clark continued to represent the American Raptors from 2023-2024, playing in the Super Rugby Americas competition in South America. When the Raptors announced that they would not be playing Pro Rugby in 2025, Clark returned to MLR, signing with Anthem RC for the 2025 season. This was confirmed when Anthem RC announced their complete 2025 roster on January 21st, 2025.

Augusto Böhme

Chilean hooker Augusto Böhme played in Major League Rugby in 2022 and again in 2024. He represented the Seattle Seawolves (2022) and Dallas Jackals (2022-loan), and the NOLA Gold (2024).

A capped Chilean international, Böhme earned his debut for his country in February 2019, and represented his country at their first ever Rugby World Cup in 2023 in France. At club level, Böhme represented Chile’s entry in SLAR (Now Super Rugby Americas), Selknam, between 2020-2021. He signed with Seattle ahead of the 2022 MLR season and made his league debut with the Seawolves before being loaned to the Dallas Jackals as injury coverage following a freak accident. He earned 4 more MLR appearances for the Jackals that season, before returning to Selknam for their 2023 SRA season and the run-up to the 2023 RWC.

On 8th December 2023, the NOLA Gold announced the signing of Augusto Böhme for the 2024 MLR season, where he scored his only 2 MLR tries to date and earned 9 MLR appearances, starting 8 times and helping the Gold finally end their playoff drought. On October 8th, 2024, the NOLA Gold announced the departure of Böhme, who returned to Chilean Super Rugby Americas franchise Selknam, where he has been playing since.

Timmy Ohlwein

Front Row Timmy Ohlwein played in Major League Rugby between 2022-2023, and again in 2025. He represented the Dallas Jackals (2022), the Chicago Hounds (2023), and Rugby FC LA (2025).

Timmy Ohlwein, an Arkansas State University alum, was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Dallas Jackals for their 2022 season. He earned 6 appearances off the bench as the Dallas Jackals went 0-16 in a miserable, no good, very bad inaugural season. Following his debut season, Ohlwein headed to Chicago and signed with the Hounds for their inaugural season in 2023, earning an additional 2 appearances for Chicago.

Ohlwein did not feature in the 2024 MLR season, instead heading to Australia and playing with the Associates Premier Grade side in Perth. On May 2nd, 2025, Ohlwein appeared on the Rugby FC LA bench for their Round 12 clash with the Seattle Seawolves. RFCLA had suffered season-ending injuries to 4 front rowers, and although no announcement was made by the team, it is likely that Ohlwein was brought in as injury cover for the back half of the 2025 season.

Alejandro Torres

Argentinian Fly-Half Alejandro Torres played in Major League Rugby between 2022-2023. He represented the Dallas Jackals for his entire MLR career.

A native of San Miguel de Tucumán in Argentina, Alejandro Torres represented the Argentina U20s in 2017 and was named to the Sudamérica XV in 2019, before moving to the US to attend Thomas More University. Following his time there, Torres declared for the 2021 MLR Collegiate Draft and was picked in the 2nd round (23rd overall) by the Dallas Jackals. His signing was announced by the Jackals in January 2022 and he earned 7 caps in his debut MLR season including 6 starts, scoring 2 tries and 18pts to make him the Jackals’ 3rd highest points scorer in their inaugural MLR season.

Between 2022 & 2023, Torres earned 19 MLR caps for the Dallas Jackals including 17 starts, scoring 2 tries and 32pts total and going 8/11 from the tee. Torres was the Jackals’ 3rd highest points scorer across their first 2 MLR seasons, behind Martin Elias (37pts) and Adriaan Carelse (46pts).
