The Utah Warriors host the Dallas Jackals at Zions Bank Stadium in Round 5 of the 2022 Major League Rugby Season.

In front of a home crowd, the Warriors blew away the Jackals 69-22 to set a new MLR scoring record for points by a side in a single game, surpassing the previous record of 64pts set on 2 occassions in 2019. Coincidentally, Utah was on the receiving end of both of these occassions, a 64-31 loss to the Toronto Arrows, and a 64-22 loss to the Colorado Raptors (then the Glendale Raptors).

The 47pt winning margin also tied a league record set by the LA Giltinis in a 52-5 victory over Houston in Round 13 of the 2021 MLR season.

Mika Kruse recorded a hattrick in this game, the 2nd in Utah Warriors club history.

Fans at Zion’s Bank Stadium were treated to a real try-fest as the Utah Warriors hosted the San Diego Legion in a Western Conference clash!

A total of 12 tries were scored throughout the game, divided evenly between the two sides. Both teams scored over 40pts and the only thing to separate the sides were two automatic conversions scored by Utah, as the Warriors’ penalty was cancelled out by a Joe Pietersen drop goal.

With a combined 86pts scored, this game was the 2nd highest-scoring game of the 2021 MLR season, and was one of the top 5 highest scoring MLR games ever until late in the 2022 season.

A closely-fought contest saw the lead flip back anf forth a number of times in the closing stages of the game, with the visitors maintaining a 27-33 lead when the clock went red. This was not how the game would finish however, as a 82nd minute try by Mika Kruse, followed by a 83rd minute conversion from Utah fly-half Hagen Schulte snatched victory for the Warriors in front of a delighted home crowd, with a final scoreline of 34-33 to the home side.

A total of 13 tries saw the Warriors emerge victorious in a 93pt game, by a score of 50-43. This was the 4th time in the 2021 season that a team scored 50+ points, and was the highest scoring game of the 2021 season. As of the conclusion of the 2022 season, this game was still the 5th highest scoring game in MLR history!

Houston fly-half Robbie Povey scored a hattrick in this game, which was the 1st hattrick in Franchise history for the SaberCats, and the 12th hattrick in MLR history!

The Seawolves travel to Zion’s Bank Stadium to face the Warriors in Utah.

Seattle would come away with a 15-20 road win for their first victory of the season in a game that saw 3 yellow cards. 2 of these were for the Seawolves, with 1 for the Warriors.

The Warriors handily dispatched the Arrows with a 39-24 victory, despite going down to 14, then 13 men in the closing stages.
