NOLA Gold host the expansion Free Jacks at the Gold Mine, in what turned out to be the last MLR game of the 2020 season for both sides, as the season would be postponed for 30 days on March 12, 2020, and then cancelled on March 19, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Major League Rugby expansion side Rugby ATL head west to Louisiana to face NOLA Gold at the Gold Mine, in a battle of the south!
The Gold have faced two 2020 expansion sides in as many weeks, with a very different outcome in this game to their Round 1 result. Rugby ATL emerged as 10-22 winners on the road with Kurt Coleman slotting 4 penalties from the tee and Rory van Vugt’s 79th minute try securing the victory for the RATLERS, who move to 2-0 on the season.
2020 – RD 1: NOLA Gold v Old Glory DC
The first MLR game in franchise history for Old Glory DC saw them travel to Louisiana to take on NOLA at the Gold Mine. It proved to be a baptism by fire as they were soundly beaten 46-13 in a game with 4 yellow cards, 3 of them to the Gold.
NOLA Gold No. 8 Cam Dolan scored the 3rd hattrick in franchise history, and the first by a Gold forward. This was the 7th hattrick in MLR history. OGDC Fly-half Jason Robertson scored the first ever MLR points for the franchise with a 26th minute penalty, and winger Doug Fraser scored the first DC try in the 30th minute.
