Montana native Nicole Heavirland played in Women’s Elite Rugby during it’s inaugural season in 2025. She represented the Boston Banshees for her entire WER career.
Signed part way through the 2025 season, Nicole Heavirland earned her WER debut when she was named in the Boston Banshees starting lineup for their Round 13 clash with the TC Gemini, their season finale. Heavirland began playing rugby at the age of 15. She attended Army West Point, playing basketball in her first semester before switching to rugby in 2015. That year, she was named a US Military Academy All-American and earned both her international 7s debut in Atlanta, and her 15s debut against England as Eagle #241.
To date, Heavirland has represented the USA 7s team at two Sevens World Cups (2018, 2022) and one 15s Rugby World Cup (Ireland, 2017). She is also an Olympian, having represented the USA at the Tokyo games in 2020 after being named as a reserve for Rio in 2016.
