New York native Leila Wang Gauoette played in Women’s Elite Rugby during the 2026 season. She represented the Denver Onyx for her entire WER career.

A native of Brooklyn in New York City, Leila Wang Gauoette swam for all 4 years at high school. She began playing rugby while attending Stanford, representing the Stanford Women’s Rugby Club for 4 years while attending between 2022-2026, captaining the side in her final two years. Following her graduation from Stanford, Wang Gaouette attended The 2026 USA Rugby Women’s All Star Championship in Montana, where she represented the PAC Coast Grizzlies.

Although not named to a WER roster when they were announced in late-April 2026, Leila Wang Gaouette appeared in the starting lineup for the Denver Onyx’s final regular season game, a Round 10 clash against the Chicago Tempest, where she earned her WER debut.
