Canadian winger Josiah Morra played in Major League Rugby during the 2025 MLR season. He represented the New England Free Jacks as well as the Miami Sharks on an 8-week loan in 2025.
A Toronto, ON Native, Morra splits his club rugby between Castaway Wanderers RFC in BC and Toronto Saracens RFC in Ontario. Born in 1998, Morra is has already been playing pro rugby for 9 years, having made his debut for the Canadian Sevens team in 2016 at only 18 years of age. He helped Canada to a silver medal at the 2019 Commonwealth Games, the same year they won their first World Series title in the 2019 Singapore 7s.
On the 15s side, he featured for the Ontario Arrows (the precursor to the MLR side) in a 40-14 victory over the New England Free Jacks in the Free Jacks’ first ever game. He earned his test debut for the 15s team against the Netherlands in 2022, and featured in their 2024 PNC campaign, as well as their 2024 November tests. On October 31st, 2024, the New England Free Jacks announced the signing of Josiah Morra for their 2025 MLR campaign. He appeared in the Free Jacks’ matchday 23 in Round 1 of the 2025 season but was not used, and have to wait until Rd 7 before earning his MLR debut, helping the Free Jacks secure a remarkable 26-33 comeback victory against the Utah Warriors. A few days after his debut, the Free Jacks announced that they had sent Josiah Morra to the Miami Sharks on an 8-week loan with the aim of getting him more playing time.
