2025 – RD 17: San Diego Legion v Old Glory DC

The San Diego Legion host Old Glory DC in a cross-conference clash, with both team’s finishing their 2025 regular seasons at Torero Stadium. The San Diego Legion are still fighting for their playoff lives with the Seattle Seawolves, and need a BP win here to give them the best chances of getting into the post-season, and snapping a 3-game losing streak. Old Glory DC are already in and are almost destined to finish 3rd in the East. A win would confirm this, but 2pts would be enough to keep them ahead of Miami.

These teams have met 5 times in the past with the Legion holding a comfortable 4-1 series lead, but with their struggles in 2025, can Old Glory DC pull one back? The most recent meeting was a 10-26 San Diego win during their 5-game win streak to begin the 2025 season. The Legion ended their regular season on a high with an enormous 50-5 victory over a very rotated Old Glory DC team, including Brad Wilkin’s first career hat trick. The San Diego Legion now need to wait for the Seattle Seawolves result before knowing if their season is over or not. Old Glory DC will likely face the Chicago Hounds on the road in the Eastern Semifinals, unless the Miami Sharks pull off a bonus point victory against the Seawolves.

2025 – RD 17: Utah Warriors v Rugby FC LA

The Utah Warriors host their Western Conference rivals Rugby FC LA with both teams wrapping up their 2025 regular season’s at Zion’s Bank Stadium. It is a battle of 1st v 2nd in the West, with the winning team taking the lead. With a Utah victory, the Warriors will clinch first place in the Western Conference for the first time, and a RFCLA bonus point victory would give them the 1st place spot and clinch a home semifinal. The Warriors are coming off of a comfortable victory over Anthem RC, while RFCLA are fresh off clinching their first ever playoff spot with a win over Old Glory DC on the road.

These teams have met 3 times in the past, with RFCLA holding a 2-1 series lead. The Warriors took the most recent meeting between these sides however, with a 28-45 victory back in Round 9 and following another high-scoring game, the Utah Warriors even up the all-time series with a 48-33 victory at home to wrap up their 2025 regular season. The Warriors clinch 1st place in the Western Conference with a 11-5 record, and will face either the San Diego Legion or the Seattle Seawolves at home in the Western Conference Semifinal. Rugby FC LA finish with a decent 8-7-1 record, and will face the Houston SaberCats in the WCSFs. They will need to wait until the result of the Houston SaberCats match tomorrow to find out if they will be playing at home, or on the road.

2025 – RD 17: NOLA Gold v New England Free Jacks

The NOLA Gold host the New England Free Jacks in an Eastern Conference clash to finish the 2025 regular season for both sides!

The Free Jacks have guaranteed a home semifinal with a victory over the Seattle Seawolves last weekend, and are fielding a line-up with plenty of rotation. Are they resting their big guns, or trying out some new ideas? For the NOLA Gold, they know that this is the last game of their season, and will want to go out with a bang, especially if it means throwing a spanner in the works of their conference rivals. The Free Jacks need a win in this game to clinch 1st in the Eastern Conference following a Chigao Hounds win during the week. These teams have met 11 times in the past, with the Free Jacks holding a 7-4 series lead. Their most recent meeting was a narrow 35-31 victory for New England at home.

The New England Free Jacks secure 1st place in the Eastern Conference for the 4th straight season with a 17-21 road victory over the NOLA Gold to end their regular season. They will face the Miami Sharks next week in the Eastern Conference Semi-Final. The NOLA Gold finish a disappointing 2025 season with a 12th loss, and their focus turns to the off-season.

WER 2025 – RD 12: Bay Breakers v Chicago Tempest

The Chicago Tempest travel to California to face the Bay Breakers in Round 12 of the Women’s Elite Rugby Inaurugal Season!

The 3rd placed Bay Breakers enter this game on a 2-match win streak after sweeping the east coast against the New York Exiles and Boston Banshees, and look to continue that momentum with a victory over the Tempest, who sit bottom of the league. Chicago are still looking for their first win of the season, and are coming off of their closest game so far, a 12-10 defeat against the TC Gemini. These teams have met once in the past, with the Bay Breakers recording a huge 17-51 victory in Chicago back in Round 7.

In just her 3rd game of the season, Canadian Sevens player Eden Kilgour recorded her first career WER hat trick in a big 45-21 Breakers victory. This takes Kilgour up to 5 tries in 3 games for the Bay Breakers.

WER 2025 – RD 12: Denver Onyx v Twin Cities Gemini

The Twin Cities Gemini travel to Colorado to face the Denver Onyx at Infinity Park during Round 12 of the Inaugural Women’s Elite Rugby season!

The travelling TC Gemini come into this game sitting 5th in the standings with a 3-5 record. They are coming off a fiercely contested 12-10 victory over the Chicago tempest, and will be desperate to close the gap to the 3rd placed Boston Banshees with only a few weeks left in the competition. The Denver Onyx lead the league with a 7-1 record entering this game, but fluffed their lines and were handed their first defeat of the season by the New York Exiles in their previous game. They will be looking to bounce back and continue to assert their dominance over the rest of WER. These teams have met once previously, when the Onyx took a 19-38 victory on the road back in Round 8.

It was clear that, having suffered their first loss of the season last week, the Onyx were out for blood and unfortunately for the TC Gemini, they were in the way. An enormous, 11-try, 75-14 victory helped the Onyx to blow off some steam. Denver’s total of 75pts scored is a new WER record, as did the winning margin of 61pts and the try total of 11. The Onyx prove that last week was just a blip, and they shouldn’t be messed with.
