Following his graduation from St. Pauls, Walsh looked towards the US for college. Although born and raised in Hong Kong, Walsh is the son of two successful American attorneys and is a US-citizen.

Charlie Walsh enrolled at UC-Berkeley and played with the Golden Bears between 2020-2025. After earning a Graduate Certificate in 2025, Walsh declared for the 2025 MLR Collegiate Draft and was selected in the 2nd Round, 11th overall, by the Seattle Seawolves and signed with the team for their 2026 campaign. He was included on the full Seawolves roster when the team announced it on 2nd March, 2026.
