Oklahoma native Chance Wenglewski played in Major League Rugby between 2019-2024. He represented the Rugby New York Ironworkers in their inaugural season in 2019, and again between 2022-2023, as well as Rugby ATL between 2020-2021, and the Chicago Hounds in 2024.
Wenglewski is a Lindenwood University alum, attending from 2015-2019. While at Lindenwood, he was named a Collegiate All-American and played with the USA U20 side in the 2016 World Cup Trophy, and played in the qualifiers in 2017. He played for the USA Selects in 2016, 2017, and 2018 Americas Pacific Challenge and earned his full test debut as Eagle #531 for the USA in November 2018 against Ireland. He travelled with the USA team to the 2019 RWC as part of the extended squad.
At MLR level, Wenglewski joined Rugby United New York late in their inaugural season in 2019, earning 3 MLR caps from the bench. He then played with the Rugby ATL academy in the fall of that year and represented the RATLers for 2 seasons between 2020-2021, earning 18 caps (14 starts) and scoring his first MLR try. He helped Rugby ATL advance to the 2021 MLR Championship Final, where they fell 31-17 to the LA Giltinis in Los Angeles. Wenglewski then headed back to New York, representing the Rugby New York Ironworkers between 2022-2023, and was one of only 2 NY players (along with Dylan Fawsitt) to appear in all 19 games of their 2022 season in which they advanced to the MLR Championship Final and defeated the Seattle Seawolves 30-15 to lift the 2022 Shield. Through his 5 seasons in MLR, Wenglewski has earned 54 MLR caps (39 starts), scored 3 tries and finished as both a Runner-Up (2021) and Champion (2022). He has earned 7 MLR Team of the Week selections and back-to-back MLR All-Pro Selections (2021-2022).
Following the announcement in early December 2023 that the Rugby New York Ironworkers would not compete in the 2024 season, Wenglewski opted in to the Dispersal Draft for NY & Toronto players (the Arrows announced that they would not compete in the 2024 season a week prior to the Ironworkers) and was selected 9th overall by the Seattle Seawolves. His signing was confirmed by the Seawolves on 16th December 2023, ahead of the 2024 season. Because Wenglewski opted in to the Dispersal Draft, his 2024 salary did not count against the Seawolves cap hit for that season.
