Old Glory2021 – RD 5: Austin Gilgronis v Rugby ATL
The Austin Gilgronis host Rugby ATL as the RATLERs visit Bold Stadium.
It was a tight affair throughout, with Mack Mason converting Conner Mooneyham’s 74th minute try to give Austin a 14-12 lead before the AGs gave away a penalty within Robbie Petzer’s range in the 78th minute, who nailed the kick to swing the game back in ATL’s favour, 14-15. The final drama came right at the death when Rugby ATL gave away a penalty of their own in the 80th minute and Mack Mason made no mistake, splitting the uprights to give the Gilgronis a 17-15 win.

Free Jacks2021 – RD 5: Toronto Arrows v Seattle Seawolves
The Toronto Arrows host the Seattle Seawolves at their home away from home, Lupo Family Field in Marietta, Georgia.
The Seawolves came into this game with a 1-3 record and this game would do nothing to improve that, being beaten for the entire 80 minutes by the Canadian outfit who finished as 52-7 victors. This was at the time the 3rd time a team had scored 50+ points in a game in the 2021 season, and was the 2nd highest score of the 2021 season to that point, behind the LA Giltinis who scored 57 points against the Arrows, coincidentally.
17 v 27
Ironworkers2021 – RD 4: Utah Warriors v Seattle Seawolves
The Seawolves travel to Zion’s Bank Stadium to face the Warriors in Utah.
Seattle would come away with a 15-20 road win for their first victory of the season in a game that saw 3 yellow cards. 2 of these were for the Seawolves, with 1 for the Warriors.
2021 – RD 4: Houston SaberCats v San Diego Legion
The San Diego Legion travel to Texas to take on the SaberCats at AVEVA stadium in what proved to be an exhilarating contest.
This game had the makings of a barnburner with 6 tries scored in the first half alone, 3 for each side. Houston held a 34-27 lead entering the final 10 minutes of the game, and there was no score for either side until the 82nd minute, well after the clock had turned red. Legion centre Cameron Clark found space on the wing and made the try to bring the score to 34-32 with the conversion still to come.
The home crowd and SaberCats players could do nothing but watch as Legion fly-half and Captain Joe Pietersen lined up the conversion… which flew to the left of the uprights, giving Houston the shock victory in front of an elated home crowd.
2021 – RD 4: NOLA Gold v Austin Gilgronis
NOLA Gold host the Austin Gilgronis in the second half of a double header at The Gold Mine, following the Toronto Arrows clash with the Giltinis.
While the first game was a high scoring, one sided affair, this clash was a far tighter game. The AGs emerged victorious thanks to a 79th minute try from Rodrick Waters, despite the unsuccessful conversion this took the score to 15-18 to the visitors.
