Idaho native Micaiah Thornton played in Women’s Elite Rugby during the 2026 season. She represented the Chicago Tempest for her entire WER career.

A native of Meridian, ID, Micaiah Thornton picked up rugby while at Mountain View High School, playing with the Mavericks Women’s team while also playing basketball. She enrolled an Long Island University where she continued her rugby journey, representing LIU for the 2022/23 season before transferring to Grand Canyon University. Thornton represented the GCU Women’s Rugby team between 2023 and 2026, and also played with the PAC South Griffins U23s in both 2024 and 2025. She graduated from GCU in April 2026.

Despite not being named on a WER roster when they were announced in late April 2026, Micaiah Thornton appeared in the Chicago Tempest reserves for their Round 4 clash with the Bay Breakers.
