Season: MLR 2025

The 8th season of Major League Rugby, held from15th February to 28th June, 2025

2025 – RD 14: Houston SaberCats v Utah Warriors

The Houston SaberCats return home to host the Utah Warriors in a Western Conference clash during Round 14 of the 2025 Major League Rugby season! Both teams are battling for the top of the West, and the ‘Cats are coming off of a well earned, comfortable victory over the San Diego Legion. The Utah Warriors are looking to bounce back from a defeat to the Seattle Seawolves, and are looking to snap a 2-game skid.

These teams have met 13 times in the past, with the SaberCats holding a narrow 7-6 lead in the series. Can the Utah Warriors even the series in this game?

2025 – RD 14: Old Glory DC v NOLA Gold

Old Glory DC host the NOLA Gold on a Tuesday night at George Mason Stadium inside GMU for the first of two Eastern Conference games that the flags play in Round 14. They will travel to face Anthem RC in Charlotte at the weekend. These sides are separated by a single point in the Eastern Conference, and both will be looking to move closer to securing a playoff spot with a win in this one. Old Glory DC are coming off a great victory over the Utah Warriors at home, and are looking to build on that momentum. The NOLA Gold are on a short turnaround from a close defeat to the Miami Sharks just 4 days ago, and are desperate to get some points from ‘Storm Week’.

These Eastern Conference rivals have met 10 times in the past, with the Gold holding a dominant 8-1-2 lead in the head to head series. Old Glory DC clawed one back here, however, with a comfortable 27-14 victory in miserable conditions. The Flags jump closer to securing a playoff spot, while the NOLA Gold’s disappointing season continues. Having scored 0 table points in this game, the Gold can no longer finish 1st in the East and therefore the New England Free Jacks become the first team to clinch a playoff spot in 2025. The Gold are not out of the running, but they will need to string some solid results together in their remaining games.

2025 – RD 13: Utah Warriors v Seattle Seawolves

The Utah Warriors host the Seattle Seawolves in a Monday night Western Conference match-up between the two founding teams. This is the Utah Warriors’ 3rd game in 13 days, and their 2nd mid-week match since Round 12. The Warriors are looking to retake the lead in the Western Conference, and are looking to bounce back from a heavy defeat to Old Glory DC in their 2nd match of Round 12. The Seattle Seawolves are coming off a draw with Rugby FC LA 10 days ago, and are the slightly more rested side. It’s just as well, as they need every win they can get to keep their playoff hunt alive.

These two MLR founding clubs have met 13 times in the past, with the Seattle Seawolves holding a 8-1-4 series lead. The Warriors were a minute away from clawing one back in the head-to-head series, but a last minute score from Rhyno Herbst snatched a Seattle victory from the jaws of defeat. The Seawolves now sit just 2pts back of a playoff spot in the Western Conference, while the Warriors stay on top thanks to the 2 bonus points they salvaged in this game.

2025 – RD 13: Rugby FC LA v Anthem RC

Anthem RC travel across the country to face Rugby FC LA at the Wallis Annenberg Stadium for the 2025 ‘A-Off’. Still winless through their 2nd season of MLR competition, Anthem RC are getting perilously close to a second 0-16 season, but are fresh off of a bye week. Rugby FC LA sit 7pts out of a playoff spot in the west, and come off the first draw of the 2025 season, a 26-all affair against the Seawolves in Seattle. Anthem RC could be the first team to be eliminated from playoff contention with a loss here.

These teams have only met once in the past, with RFCLA eeking out a 29-33 victory on the road in Round 12 of the 2024 season.

2025 – RD 13: San Diego Legion v Houston SaberCats

The San Diego Legion play their 3rd game in 11 days as they host the Houston SaberCats at Torero Stadium in a Western Conference clash. The Legion are coming off a big win on the road in New Orleans, and look to build on that momentum to climb the standings. The Houston SaberCats are looking to bounce back after a bloody nose against the Free Jacks up in Quincy. With these teams sitting 2nd & 3rd in the West, both teams are going to want this win badly.

These two MLR Founding members have met 12 times in the past, and the Houston SaberCats have the chance to reduce the Legion’s 7-5 lead in the series even further after they defeated San Diego 34-14 back in Round 7 of this season.

2025 – RD 13: New England Free Jacks v Chicago Hounds

The Chicago Hounds return to Quincy for the first time since the 2024 Eastern Conference Final, looking to get revenge on the New England Free Jacks. The Free Jacks will defend Fort Quincy on the back of a 6-game win streak and have bulldozed their way to the top of the Eastern Conference, with the Chicago Hounds looking to retake the top spot, coming off of a hard earned victory over the Miami Sharks last week.

These teams have met 5 times in the past, splitting the regular season series 2-2 but the Free Jacks have the edge with a victory in their lone playoff match-up last season. The Hounds demolished the Free Jacks with a 36-7 victory in their most recent meeting back in Round 3 of the 2025 season though, so this one could be a cracker.

2025 – RD 13: NOLA Gold v Miami Sharks

The Miami Sharks travel to New Orleans and the Gold Mine to face the Gold for a southern showdown in the Eastern Conference! The Sharks are looking to bounce back after a hard fought loss in Chicago snapped their 3-game win streak, with the Gold also looking to get back into the win column after a loss in San Diego. Both teams are desperate for points in the Eastern Conference, and have met each other 3 times. The NOLA Gold have an edge in the all-time series with a 2-1 lead, but the Sharks took the most recent meeting with a 30-25 victory back in Round 2 of the season!

He was named as the 2025 MLR Rookie of the Year on 24th July, 2025, as well as Chicago Hounds Rookie of the Year.

On Octobe 21st 2025, the Chicago Hounds announced the return of Peyton Wall for his sophomore season in Major League Rugby. He was the first returning player announced by the Chicago Hounds ahead of their 2026 Campaign.
