Texas native Telesi Uhatefe played in Women’s Elite Rugby during the 2026 season. She represented the Bay Breakers for her entire WER career.
A native of Euless, TX, about half way between Dallas and Fort Worth, Telesi Uhatefe played basketball at high school but discovered rugby in college at Southern Nazarene University, where she represeted the Women’s Rugby team from 2022 through to her graduation in 2026. While at SNU, Uhatefe also represented the Team in the 2023 PR7s competition, helped the Lonestar Armadillos to the 2024 NCR Collegiate All-Star 7s Title as top try scorer and tournament MVP, and that’s outside of her accolades with the SNU team. Uhatefe was named a 2023 NCR Collegiate All-American, was named SNU MVP in 2024, and helped the Crimson Storm to a NCR D1 National Title in 2025, where she was named Finals MVP and NCR D1 Player of the Year. Uhatefe was also nominated for the 2025/26 MA Sorensen Award for her excellent season.
In early 2026, Telesi Uhatefe was included in the USA Eagles’ 32-player squad for the 2026 PAC4 tournament, where she earned her test debut as USA Eagle #334 against the Black Ferns. She also featured in the USA’s victory over Australia. Although she was not named to a WER roster when they were announced in late April 2026, Telesi Uhatefe appeared as a reserve for the Bay Breakers’ Round 5 clash with the Boston Banshees, where she earned her WER debut.
