New Jersey native Sophia Zaragoza played in Women’s Elite Rugby during the 2026 season. She represented the New York Exiles for her entire WER career.

A native of Mount Tabor, NJ, Sophia Zaragoza discovered rugby while attending Colby-Sawyer College in new Hampshire, having played volleyball, softball and basketball in high school. She represented the Chargers from 2018-2022, captaining the women’s team in her final two years. Following her graduation, she put her Athletic Training major to use, joining the New Jersey City University sports medicine department as an assistant athletic trainer. Zaragoza was included in the New York Exiles squad for their 2026 WER campaign in late April of that year.
