Newfoundland native Patrick Parfrey played in Major League Rugby between 2019-2021. He represented the Toronto Arrows for his entire MLR career.

The son of the former Rugby Canada President of the same name, Patrick Parfrey began playing rugby on ‘The Rock’, Newfoundland. He played with Swilers Rugby Club as well as the Atlantic Rock. He earned his test debut for Canada against the USA in the 2013 Pacific Nations Cup, and was called up as injury cover for the Canada squad at the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England.

Parfrey entered MLR with the Toronto Arrows in 2019, earning 2 starts in 6 games that year before joining the national team at his second Rugby World Cup in Japan that same year. He returned to the Arrows for the 2020 season but didn’t feautre before the COVID-19 pandemic cancelled the season after 5 rounds. When the competition returned in 2021, Parfrey joined the Arrows as they were based out of Atlanta for the year, scoring his lone MLR try and starting 7 times in 12 appearances for the Arrows. In total, Parfrey earned 18 MLR appearances for Toronto, starting 9 times and scoring 1 try (a 7pt-er) on over 400m gained.

He made his most recent appearance for Canada in 2021 against Chile as part of the 2023 RWC Qualifiers. Parfrey represented The Rock as recently as 2024, when the team finished 2nd in the East Coast Rugby Championship, where he was named as team MVP.
