Illinois native Matt Harmon played in Major League Rugby between 2019-2025. He represented the NOLA Gold for his entire MLR career.
Harmon attended Lake Forest High School, playing rugby with the Lake Forest Harriers and helping them to back-to-back State Championships in 2012 & 2013. He attending the University of Kansas until 2015, Captaining the rugby tema that year before transferring to Life University, playing with the Running Eagles between 2016-2018. Harmon won the D1A National Championship while at Life, and was named a Collegiate All-American.
Harmon has represented the NOLA Gold for 7 MLR seasons to date, earning 73 appearanced and 45 starts in that span, completing over 400 tackles and gaining 860m as a front row. He came off the bench in NOLA’s first ever playoff game against the Chicago Hounds in the 2024 Eastern Conference Semifinals, and on December 17th, 2024, the NOLA Gold confirmed the return of Matt Harmon for his 8th MLR season in 2025.
