Canadian Karenna Ottywill played in Women’s Elite Rugby during the 2026 season. She represented the Denver Onyx for her entire WER career.
A native of Toronto, ON, Ottywill began playing rugby as a teenager before enrolling at Brock University and representing the Badgers Women’s Rugby side between 2018-2022, serving as Captain between 2021-2022. Following her graduation from Brock, Ottywill undertook her Master’s degree at the University of Guelph and continued to play rugby, representing their women’s side. Ottywill helped the Guelph Gryphons to the 2024 OUA Championship, returning to the OUA Finals in 2025 where they fell to the Gaels from the University of Queens. At club level, Ottywill plays with the Guelph Redcoats who have lifted the Ontario Women’s League (OWL) Cup for five consecutive seasons from 2019-2025 (not awarded in 2020 & 2021).
Despite not being named to a WER roster when they were announced in late April 2026, Karenna Ottywill appeared as a reserve for the Denver Onyx’s Round 6 clash with the Boston Banshees, earning her WER debut in a huge 63-14 victory in Colorado against her former Guelph teammate, Natalie Armatage.
