On 13th November 2023, the Chicago Hounds traded Hugh Roach to the San Diego Legion in exchange for Irish born internationally capped Canadian scrum-half, Jason Higgins. Roach scored 3 tries in 12 games (all starts) in his debut season with the Legion, completing 134 tackles and tacking his career Meters Gained total over 1,100. On 2nd November 2024, the Legion announced the return of Hugh Roach for the 2025 MLR season.
