United StatesTexas native Dillon Shotwell played in Major League Rugby during the 2022 season, representing the San Diego Legion. The Sam Houston State hooker is a MLR draftee, selected in the 3rd Round (28th overall) by the Houston SaberCats in the 2021 MLR Collegiate Draft.
Shotwell spent the fall of 2021 with Rugby HTX, the SaberCats’ academy side. In January of 2022, the SaberCats traded Shotwell to the San Diego Legion along with 2022 Salary Cap Considerations (details unknown) in exchange for Aaron Mitchell.
He was named on the bench of the Legion’s Round 5 clash with Old Glory DC, but did not feature.
