English back row Chris Robshaw played in Major League Rugby between 2021-2022. He represented the San Diego Legion for his entire MLR career.

Born and raised in Surrey in the south of England, Robshaw began playing rugby for Warlingham RFC when he was 7. He sent to school at Millfield Prep School in Somerset where he Captained the rugby team. Robshaw developed in the Harlequins system from 2005 and earned his Premiership debut for the club in an opening round victory over London Irish during the 2007/08 London Double Header. He went on to play for the England Saxons during the 2008 Churchill Cup. Robshaw played with Harlequins from 2007-2020, earning 300 total appearances for the club across all competitions, including over 200 in the Premiership and 43 in the Champions Cup. He was named Aviva Premiership Player of the Year twice, in 2008/09 and in 2011/12, a Challenge Cup champion in 2010/11, and Premiership Champion in 2011/12.

After playing with the England Schools U18s in 2004, the England U21s in 2006, and Saxons in 2008, Chris Robshaw represented England against the Barbarians in 2009, before earning his test debut in a loss to Argentina later that year. He was named as Captain of England’s 2012 Six Nations captain despite only earning a single test cap 3 years earlier. England would finish 2nd that year and Robshaw would go on to Captain the national team from 2012 through to the end of the 2015 Rugby World Cup. Following a poor RWC campaign from England (who hosted the tournament), Robshaw lost the consistent captaincy but continued as a regular starter. Injuries started to take their toll in 2017 & 2018, and he played the last of his 66 test matches for England in a victory over South Africa in South Africa.

In late 2020, the San Diego Legion announced that they had signed Chris Robshaw for the 2021 MLR season. However, he was only make 4 appearances (3 starts) before another injury sidelined him for the rest of the year. He was able to return in 2022 and was a key part of the Legion’s season, starting 7 of his 14 appearances and scoring his lone MLR try in the process while completing 99 tackles. Robshaw announced his retirement from professional rugby in October 2022 following the MLR season, after earning 18 appearances for the Legion to cap off a remarkable professional career. Robshaw now works with broadcaster Premier Sports.
