Virginia native Cheta Emba played in Women’s Elite Rugby between 2025-2026. She represented the Boston Banshees for their entire WER career.

A capped USA Eagle, Nigerian-American Cheta Emba was named in the Boston Banshees starting lineup for WER’s first ever game on 22nd March, 2025. She is an Olympian, having represented the USA in Rugby Sevens in the Tokyo games. She has also represented the USA at the Rugby World Cups in 2017 and 2025, and the World Cup of Sevens in 2018 & 2022.

Emba started both of her WER appearances for the Boston Banshees in the league’s inaugural season, scoring 2 tries and 18pts in total. She rejoined the USA Sevens team for the 2025/26 SVNS Series where the women’s team finished 3rd in both Vancouver and New York, as well as 3rd overall, and 4th in the Women’s Grad Finals. Following the 2025/26 SVNS Series, Cheta Emba returned to the Boston Banshees for a second season in WER, making her first appearance of the season as a reserve in Round 6.
