Tennessee back rower Calvin Gentry played in Major League Rugby during the 2022 season. He represented the Dallas Jackals for his entire MLR career.

A native of Memphis, Gentry attended both the University of Memphis and Arkansas State and played rugby at both, becoming a Collegiate All-American in 2019. He declared for the 2021 MLR Collegiate Draft, and was selected in the 3rd Round, 27th Overall by the Dallas Jackals, who then signed him in October 2021 ahead of their inaugural MLR campaign in 2022.

Gentry earned his MLR debut for the Jackals early in the campaign against the Houston SaberCats in February of 2022, and gained 48m in possession in 2 appearances from the bench. Injury limited his playing time during his rookie season, and he did not return for the Jackals in 2023.
