Californian prop Blake Rogers played in Major League Rugby between 2018-2021. He represented the Glendale/Colorado Raptors (2018-20) and the LA Giltinis (2021).
A native of Colusa, CA, Blake Rogers attended Jesuit High School in Sacramento where he began playing rugby, before heading to Colorado where he attended the University of Colorado, Boulder and continued his rugby development while there. He joined the Glendale Raptors in 2017 and remained with them for the inaugural season of Major League Rugby in 2018. Through MLR’s first two seasons, Rogers appeared in 25 of the Raptors’ 26 games, starting 17 times including the 2018 MLR Final where the Raptors fell to the Seattle Seawolves. He earned an impressive 444m gained during the 2019 season.
Due to injury, Blake Rogers didn’t feature for the newly renamed Colorado Raptors during the 2020 season and still was not fit when the season was cancelled after 5 rounds due to the COVID-19 pandemic. When MLR returned in 2021, the Raptors had withdrawn from the competition and Rogers had returned to his home state, signing with the expansion LA Giltinis. He earned 15 appearances that year and started 5 times to help the Giltinis advance to the 2021 MLR Championship Game where he came off the bench to help LA defeat Rugby ATL to claim their first and only MLR Shield. He completed a career high of 85 tackles that year.
Across his 4 seasons in Major League Rugby, Blake Rogers started 22 of his 40 appearances, completing over 200 tackles on defence and gaining close to 800m in possession.
