League: Major League Rugby

Founded in 2017 with it’s inaugural season played in 2018, Major League Rugby (MLR) is the highest level of professional rugby in North America.

2018 RD 8: Glendale Raptors v Houston SaberCats

This Glendale victory ended Houston’s hopes of a 2018 playoff spot, thanks in part to a hattrick from Raptors winger, Harley Davidson! This game also saw a successful drop goal from Maximo de Achaval, just the 2nd successful drop goal in MLR history!

2018 RD 7: NOLA Gold v Glendale Raptors

At the time, this game set the record for the largest winning margin in Major League Rugby history, with a 37pt spread in Glendale’s 10-47 away victory.

2018 – RD 7: Houston SaberCats v Seattle Seawolves

With a win in this game, the Seattle Seawolves clinched their first ever playoff spot in Major League Rugby history.

Seawolves flanker Eric Duechle recorded 24 successful tackles in this game. This was a MLR single-game record at the time and was the highest single-game tackle count by a player during the 2018 season.

2018 RD 6: Seattle Seawolves v NOLA Gold

This game marked the 2nd time in Major League Rugby history that a team scored 50+ points. In addition, Seattle’s 55pts was at the time the most points scored by a single team in a MLR game.

2018 RD 6: Austin Elite v San Diego Legion

This game marked the first time in Major League Rugby History that a team scored less than 10pts in a match, as the travelling San Diego Legion fell to the Austin Elite.

2018 RD 5: Seattle Seawolves v Utah Warriors

The Seattle Seawolves completed 280 tackles in this game. Possibly a Major League Single-Game Record!

On the flip side, the Utah Warriors became the first MLR team to record over 1,000m gained in a single game, racking up 1470m gained for a MLR single-game record that smashed the previous record of 905m! Paul Lasike alone record 179m gained, another single-game record at the time!
