California native Sofia Hilger played in Women’s Elite Rugby during the 2026 season. She represented the New York Exiles for her entire WER career.

A native of Fair Oaks, CA, Hilger discovered rugby long before college. She played club rugby with the Land Park Harlequins where she served as Captain, and represented the Utah Lions U18 Elite Rugby Team in 2019 as well as the Rhinos Rugby Academy for a couple of years. In 2021 Hilger enrolled at Harvard and represented the Crimson Women’s Rugby team from 2021 until her graduation in 2025. While with Harvard, she helped the team to a NIRA 15s National Championship in 2024, serving as Captain, and contributed to the Crimson’s 15s and 7s National Championship wins in 2023/24.

Despite not being named to a WER roster when they were announced in late April 2026, Sofia Hilger appeared in the NY Exiles reserves for their Round 6 clash with the league-leading TC Gemini, where she earned her WER debut off the bench in a 27-24 victory.
