Maine native Emily Colesworthy played in Women’s Elite Rugby during the 2026 season. She represented the Denver Onyx for her entire WER career.

A native of North Yarmouth, ME, Colesworthy picked up rugby in 2009 before attending Norwich University for her undergrad degree, playing with the NU Women’s Rugby team while there between 2012-2016. Colesworthy spent some time in the PNW and played with Seattle RFC while there, before settling in Colorado and joining the Gray Wolves. She represented the Gray Wolves in the WPL while also attending Regis University to earn her doctorate.

Emily Colesworthy was named as a reserve player for the Denver Onyx during WER’s inaugural season in 2025, but never saw action. Despite not being named to the Onyx roster when it was announced in late April 2026, Colesworthy appeared in the reserves for their Round 4 clash with the New York Exiles, earning her WER debut off the bench.
