Oregon native Seq’hiya Simmons played in Women’s Elite Rugby during the 2026 season. She represented the Denver Onyx for her entire WER career.

Raised in Woodburn, OR, Seq’hiya Simmons is enrolled in the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde and is a descendant of Muckleshoot Indian Tribe. She began playing rugby in Grade 11, having previously played softball and basketball. Simmons attended Central Washington University for the 2024/25 season and played rugby for the Wildcats before the program shut down, at which time she transferred to the University of Lethbridge in Alberta, Canada and represented the Pronghorns Women’s rugby side.

When home in Oregon, Simmons regularly plays with the PNW Womxns Selects, and has attended camps for the USA U20 and U23 sides. She was included on the Denver Onyx roster for their 2026 WER campaign early in 2026.
