Uruguayan internationally capped lock Ignacio Dotti played in Major League Rugby between 2019-2022, and again between 2024-2025. He represented the NOLA Gold between 2019-2022 before spending a season with Peñarol, Uruguay’s representative club in the Super Rugby Americas (formerly SLAR) competition. He returned to MLR in 2024 with Old Glory DC, playing with the Flags through 2025.
Ignacio Dotti’s signing was announced by NOLA in October 2018 ahead of the 2019 MLR season, and he scored 3 of his 4 MLR tries in his debut season, earning 13 caps (12 starts). In his 4 seasons with NOLA, Dotti earned 36 caps (29 starts) before heading back to Uruguay and winning a championship with Peñarol.
Dotti’s return to MLR was announced by Old Glory DC in September 2023 alongside the re-signing of fellow Uruguayan international Facundo Gattas, while the two of them were representing Los Teros at the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France. Dotti earned 10 appearances (6 starts) for Old Glory DC in the 2024 season, completing 59 tackles to take his career total over 300 (331). On December 20th, 2024, Old Glory DC announced the return of Ignacio Dotti for his 6th MLR season, and second with DC. Dotti scored 1 try and started 4 of his 7 appearances for Old Glory DC in 2025, passing 50 in his MLR career and helping the Flags to a 3rd consecutive postseason appearance following their best ever regular season.
On 28th August, 2025, Old Glory DC posted a farewell message for Dotti. It is unclear if Dotti is retiring, or if he has signed another contract elsewhere.
