Chicago native Mackenzie Wood played in Women’s Elite Rugby between 2025-2026. She represented the Chicago Tempest for her entire WER career.

Named as a reserve for the 2025 season, Mackenzie Wood earned her WER debut when she was named in the Chicago Tempest reserves for their Round 7 clash with the Bay Breakers. She has previously represented Chicago North Shore, captaining the WPL team alongside Tempest teammate Kadie Sanford, as well as the San Clemente Rhinos in the 2024 Rugby Tens Championship, and the Chicago Lions.

Mackenzie Wood earned 3 appearances off the bench for the Chicago Tempest during WER’s inaugural season in 2025, and returned for a second season with the team the following year.
