Alaska native Leyla Alev Kelter played in Women’s Elite Rugby during it’s inaugural season in 2025. She represented the Bay Breakers for her entire WER career.

A capped USA Eagle, Alev Kelter earned her WER debut in Round 2 of the 2025 season, when she was named in the Bay Breakers starting lineup against the Denver Onyx, the first game in Breakers history. Born in Florida but raised in Alaska, Alev Kelter has played with Saracens and the Loughborough Lightning in the English PWR, and has represented the USA as Eagle #256 at both 7s and 15s level. She is an Olympian, having represented the USA in Rugby Sevens at three separate Olympic Games, Rio (2016), Tokyo (2020/21) and in Paris (2024). She has also represented the USA at two Rugby World Cup competitions, in Ireland in 2017 and New Zealand in 2021/22. She also played with the US U20 Ice Hockey team while attending the University of Wisconsin.
