New York native Gio Cruz played in Women’s Elite Rugby between 2025-2026. She represented the New York Exiles for her entire WER career.

Gio Cruz was names in the NY Exiles’ starting lineup for WER’s first ever match on 22nd March, 2025. She has previously played with NYRC in the WPL, also serving as their breakdown coach. Cruz earned 10 appearances for the Exiles during the first season of WER competition, starting all 10 games and scoring a try to help the team finish as Legacy Cup Runners Up in their first year. She returned for a second season with the team in 2026.
