Having played rugby throughout his youth, To’omalatai’s break came in 2023 when he represented Canterbury during the National Provincial Championship, appearing in 5 games and starting 3. He played club rugby with the Canterbury Pasifika in 2024, and was selected to the Manu Samoa squad for their 2024 Pacific Nations Cup campaign, finishing 3rd after defeating the USA 18-13.

On 3rd November 2024, the San Diego Legion announced the signing of Brook To’omalatai for the 2025 MLR season.
