Maryland native Pete Malcolm played in Major League Rugby between 2019-2024. He represented the Austin Elite (2019), the San Diego Legion (2020-2022), and the Seattle Seawolves (2023-2024).

Through high school, Malcolm played both gridiron football and rugby, but continued with rugby at Wheeling University following his graduation where he was named a Collegiate All-American. He participated in the short-lived PRO Rugby competition (the spiritual predecessor of MLR) in 2016 with the Ohio Aviators. The following year, Malcolm captained a USA Collegiate All-Americans side against Oxford University as a curtain raiser to an English Premiership game between the Newcastle Falcons and Saracens. Following this, he was included in a USA Selects side for the 2017 Americas Pacific Challenge. Malcolm is Eagle #505 and earned 11 test caps for the USA,

Malcolm was a regular with the Austin Huns at club level, which contributed to a contract with the Austin Elite ahead of MLR’s inaugural season in 2018. He was named captain of the Austin side but a knee injury in the pre-season sidelined him for the whole season. He returned for the 2019 season where he made his MLR debut in 2019, earning 6 starts in 8 appearances for Austin. While playing for Austin, Malcolm caught the eye of the San Diego Legion, who signed him ahead of the 2020 season. he appeared in all 5 games of the 2020 season as the Legion went 5-0 before the COVID-19 pandemic cancelled the season. Malcolm would spend 3 seasons with the Legion, earning 33 caps (15 starts) in black and red, scoring 10 tries total.

Following the 2022 MLR season, the San Diego Legion traded Malcolm to the Seattle Seawolves on 20th September in exchange for Salary Cap Considerations in 2023 (unknown). In his debut season in Seattle, Malcolm scored an additional 4 tries in 17 games (13 starts), gaining a PB of 434m gained with ball in hand and completing 159 tackles, another PB. Malcolm returned for the Seawolves in 2024, but suffered a season-ending injury in his first and only game that year. On 26th June 2024, Malcolm announced an end to his professional career on instagram.
