The 2027 Major League Rugby season was the 10th season of competition for Major League Rugby, the highest level of professional men’s rugby in North America. This page serves as a summary for the 2027 season, including regular season standings, Championship Series structure and results including links to all 2026 Playoff Games once the matchups are known. This page will also summarise the 2027 All-MLR Teams, and the recipients of the League’s End of Season Awards, once they are announced.

With World Rugby’s 3yr funding of Anthem RC drying up at the end of 2026, the Rising Stars, a side aimed specifically at developing new USA Eagles and ran as a partnership between World Rugby, USA Rugby, and MLR, ceased operations. This left the competition with 5 remaining sides for the 2027 season, the smallest MLR season to date. As further news and information is released about the upcoming 2027 season, it will be added here.

Regular Season

Overall Standings

Standings will be updated on a weekly basis following each round. Points are awarded based on the following:
PF = Points For
PA = Points Against
+/- = Points Difference
Points
4 points for winning a match
2 points for drawing a match
0 points for losing a match
1 losing bonus point for losing by 7 points or fewer
1 try bonus point for scoring 4 tries or more

The exact structure for the 2027 Major League Rugby season is currently unknown. This page is working under the assumption that the season will be a 5-team competition, most likely a round robin where each team faces the other 4 teams 2/3 times for an 8/12 game regular season. Once MLR releases more information about their 10th season of competition, it will be added here.

Championship Series

As above, the structure for the 2027 MLR season is currently unknown and with it the exact structure of the postseason. Working under the assumption that the playoffs will function as they did in 2026, the top 4 teams will qualify for the Championship Series with the 5th placed team missing out. These 4 teams will then play a Semfinal Round, with the winners advancing to compete for the 2027 MLR Shield.

2027 All-MLR Teams

Once the 2027 MLR season is complete and the End Of Season Awards have been announced, this table will list the All-MLR Teams for the 2027 campaign. An All-MLR selection represents excellence in a position, and is the equivalent of the Teams of the Season.
