English ex-player Rob Webber coached in MLR during the 2024 season. He served as Forwards Coach for the Chicago Hounds, before being promoted to Interim Head Coach for the Hounds’ 2024 Playoff push following the departure of Sam Harris.

Webber is an accomplished player in his own right, having earned over 100 appearances for London Wasps in the English Premiership between 2005-2012, also playing for Bath between 2012-2016 and the Sale Sharks from 2016-2020. He won the Premiership with Wasps in 2008 and earned over 300 Premiership appearances in total. Webber is a capped England international, having earned 16 test caps.

His coaching career began as Forwards Coach for the Jersey Reds in the English Championship in 2021, before 2 seasons as the Reds’ Head Coach. When Jersey collapsed in 2023, Webber joined the Chicago Hounds as Forwards Coach for their 2024 season. He was promoted to Interim Head Coach following the departure of HC Sam Harris late in the season, and oversaw the Hounds’ first MLR Playoff run in 2024. At Age 37 that season, Webber was younger than some players in the league.

On June 24th 2024, English Premiership side Saracens announced that Webber would be joining the club as Assistant Forwards & Transition Coach for their 2024/25 season, ruling out the possibility of the Hounds removing the ‘Interim’ tag from his title with them.
