Canadian prop Tyler Rowland played in Major League Rugby between 2020-2024. He represented the Toronto Arrows (2020-2023), and Old Glory DC (2024).
Ontario native Rowland is a capped Canadian international, having earned 9 caps for Canada since his international debut against Wales in July 2021 (through 2023). Rowland was signed in November 2019 ahead of the 2020 MLR season. In that truncated season, he earned 3 MLR caps, which he followed up with 12 (7 starts) and his first (and as of the conclusion of the 2023 season, only) MLR try. Through his first 4 MLR seasons, Rowland earned 41 MLR caps (20 starts) scoring 1 try. His high for appearances came in 2022, when he earned 14 (4 starts).
On 27th September, 2023, the Arrows announced that they had re-signed Tyler Rowland for the 2024 MLR season, where he was hoping to reach 50 caps in MLR. However, in late November 2023, the Arrows and MLR announced that they would not compete in the 2024 season due to financial difficulties. In early December that year, a dispersal draft was held for Toronto and NY players (the Ironworkers also announced that they would not compete in 2024 a week after the Arrows) and Rowland was selected 4th overall by Rugby FC LA. Later that month, RFCLA traded Rowland to Old Glory DC in exchange for 2024 Salary Cap Considerations (unknown), and the Flags confirmed this signing on 29th December 2023, ahead of the 2024 season.
