New Zealand front row Lolani Faleiva played in Major League Rugby between 2022-2024. He represented the Toronto Arrows for his entire MLR career.
The Toronto Arrows announced the initial signing of then-22yo Faleiva in January of 2022 ahead of that year’s MLR season. He joined Canada’s first (and only) professional rugby club from the Hawke’s Bay Magpies in New Zealand’s NPC competition. He appeared in 14 games during his debut season in North America, earning 3 starts and scoring 4 tries. Faleiva returned in blue & white for the 2023 season, impressing on a struggling Arrows side. He added 11 appearances and 10 starts, scoring 2 tries and gaining over 500m before suffering an injurry towards the end of the regular season. For his excellent performance in 2023, he was awarded Toronto Arrows Forward of the Year in the team’s end of season awards.
On 13th November 2023, the Toronto Arrows announced the return of Lolani Faleiva for the 2024 MLR season but after the Arrows announced that they would not compete in 2024 due to financial difficulties, he returned to New Zealand and earned his full test debut for Samoa off the bench in a 33-25 victory over Italy on 5th July, 2024.
